About the Studio
Design with a pulse. Built for your life.
We don’t believe in injecting a random, trending aesthetic into a home just for the sake of it. Great design doesn't exist in a vacuum. Our goal is to create spaces that feel completely connected—to the natural environment outside the windows, the unique architectural style of the building, and most importantly, the actual human beings who live there.
When you work with us, your lifestyle and goals become our north star. We take the vision you share with us and use it to drive every single spatial, structural, and aesthetic decision. We aren't here to override your taste; we are here to edit, elevate, and execute it. The result is a home that hits your exact functional targets, honors the bones of your house, and lets your personality take center stage—just with a highly sophisticated, well-traveled edge.
At Heritage Home Interiors, we strive to create spaces that are so thoughtfully engineered that they function just as beautifully as they look. Because at the end of the day, a gorgeous room is pointless if it doesn't add ease, comfort, and value to your everyday life.
Let's make your home your favorite place to be.
Allison Mahaney
Founder & Principal Designer
My love of art and design is the truest thing about me. From a very young age, I’ve had a deep, visceral connection to how our physical surroundings impact our mental well-being. (Shout out to my mom for letting me decorate my own bedroom using the JCPenney catalog at age eight!)
This love of art and design took me to fine arts summer camps as a teenager and eventually to study Art Education at Grand Valley State University. After college I found a home working with creative teams in the retail industry.
After spending 20 years leading design programs for America’s favorite home brands and another five years managing material selections for seven-figure custom builds right here in Richmond, VA, launching Heritage Home Interiors was the most natural next step of my life.
I’ve spent decades studying how spaces function, how materials age, and how a room can make you feel completely at ease. I don't believe in sterile, look-but-don't-touch showrooms. I believe in spaces that have a pulse, a history, and a touch of the unexpected.
I am finally home, and I can’t wait to help you fall in love with yours.
